Environmentally friendly materials
UNIQUE PRODUCTS MADE OF
INNOVATIVE MATERIALS.
DESIGNED TO SUSTAIN.

Wood

Wood is a wonderful material. Deep, natural colors. A warm organic touch and very good environmental compatibility. Wood can be easily disposed of by composting or burning whilst winning energy. As a renewable material it has a positive ecological balance.

The wood we use is mostly from certified forestry. One day we will have our own certificate, but unfortunately this is not as easy as it sounds. We exclusively use precious natural wood, which is sealed in a special manner. However, when wearing our products a characteristic natural patina will occur, which makes each KERBHOLZ product even more individual.

Holz
Acetate

Cellulose acetate is an ecological synthetic based on natural cellulose. General wood wastes like bark or plant residue are shredded. The resulting cellulose fibers are poured into flat plates. Cellulose, and thus acetate, is besides wood the most important renewable material worldwide.

Although acetate is heat-, light- and weather-resistant, it can be composted through mold fungus or bacteria.

Acetat
Stone

Since ancient times stones have been used to make design products like statues or jewelry. We got inspired and included marble and slate in our collections.

Special colors and grains, paired with a raw natural look make the stone products a true eye catcher.

We fell in love with slate because of its unique texture and feel and we use thin layers of veneer for our sunglass collection.

Stein
Metal

Many of you know stainless steel from the kitchen – it’s shiny and doesn’t rust. We took these characteristics and utilized them for our watches. The case of our metal watches is especially long-lasting and protects the sensitive clock work from external influences. This is why metal fits with our sustainability philosophy: Your watch is durable and less fragile. Thus, you can enjoy your watch for a long time and don’t have to replace it every now and then. Also, with time and wearing the stainless steel gets a natural patina, which makes your watch your own individualized KERBHOLZ.
